This list shows all the Fighter Ace Replay commands, their default keys, and a brief explanation of what each command does. To print the list, click anywhere on it, then press your browser's Print button

Description

Create Replay: On/Off R Turns the replay recorder on and off. "Rec" flashes in the upper right corner of the view window when the recorder is on.

Replay View Commands

Control

Keyboard Command

Description

View Mode: Auto/Manual BACKSPACE Switches between Automatic and Manual replay view modes. In Automatic mode, you'll see a camera in the upper right of the screen, and see the action as originally recorded. In Manual mode, you'll see a hand in the upper right of the screen, and you can use the view commands listed below.
Next Plane TAB Switches the point-of-view for all replay views to the next plane.
Previous Plane SHIFT TAB Switches the point-of-view for all replay views to the previous plane.
Full View: Forward F3 This gives an unobstructed view looking out of the plane to the front. You cannot see the instruments in this view, or pan the camera.
Cockpit View F2 This view shows the cockpit, gun sight, and instruments. You cannot pan the camera in this view.
3D Cockpit View F4 This shows the cockpit interior, and allows you to pan around using the mouse or number keys.
External View: Parallel to Plane F7 Shows the current plane from the viewpoint of a camera positioned outside the plane and flying parallel to it. (The ground tilts when the plane banks.) Use the mouse or keyboard number keys 1-6 to move around the plane. See Moving the Camera for details.
External View: Parallel to Ground F8 Shows the current plane from the viewpoint of a camera positioned outside the plane and flying parallel to the ground. (The plane tilts when it banks.) Use the mouse or keyboard number keys 1-6 to move around the plane. See Moving the Camera for details.
Stationary Camera View F6 Shows the fight from a stationary camera that you can control.
Stationary Camera View Tracking: On/Off CTRL F6 When turned on, this external view follows the movements of the current plane.
Stationary Camera View: Repeat Pan F9 Shows the current plane from the viewpoint of a stationary camera outside the plane that pans as you fly by. This repeats to cover your entire recorded flight path.
Stationary Camera View w/tracking F10 Shows the current plane from the viewpoint of a stationary camera outside the plane that pans as you fly by.

Description

Camera: Rotate Left 1 Rotates the camera to the left. Not available in all views.
Camera: Rotate Right 2 Rotates the camera to the right. Not available in all views.
Camera: Zoom In 3 In External Views, moves camera closer to the plane.
Camera: Zoom Out 4 In External Views, moves camera farther from the plane.
Camera: Raise 5 Rotates camera up. Not available in all views.
Camera: Lower 6 Rotates camera down. Not available in all views.
Camera: Level INSERT Levels camera. Not available in all views.
     
Other Replay Commands

Description

Name Tags: Show/Hide ALT F5 Tags all other planes with the pilots' names.
Distance Tags: Show/Hide CTRL F5 Tags all other planes with the distances between you and them.
Rank Tags: Show/Hide CTRL SHIFT F5 Tags all other planes with pilot ranks. Makes distant planes more visible, and identifies the level of skill the enemy possesses.
Camp Tags: Show/Hide CTRL ALT F5 Tags all other planes with their camps.
Game Volume: Decrease ALT - Decreases the volume of the game's sounds.
Game Volume: Increase ALT = Increases the volume of the game's sounds.
Screenshot: Save CTRL Z Saves a snapshot of the screen as a Windows bitmap file (.bmp) into a directory called Fighter Ace/ScrShot. To save space on your hard drive, delete the files from this directory when you're done with them.
