I dont know if this helps anyone :

After goin mad with the inertia scaling tool I found a much better way to get correct scaled inertia(Boxes). Write down the dimensions of your wing part or whatever you imported to OPS (In MAX is a tool called Measure...) and type this into the X,Y and Z values for the inertia of your object (in the properties panel). Reload the sm file and HEY...Now just move the inertia in the right position.

CG Question - In max I get this fot the mass centre:

0.02, 0.27, 0

After typing this into OPS the position of the inertia box isnīt right. I moved it per hand and got this for the CG:

0.042, 0.028, 0

This is for the Wingtip (positioned at 9.568, 0.39, 0.002)rotated like the P51 Wingtip.

Any ideas ?

I have to admit that the inertia scaling isn't the best.

The centre of mass for non-regular shaped objects is not always the half way point measurement wise. Because the Inertia volumes are all regular shapes, the CG point normally does represent the measured centre.

So is it accurate enough when I place the CG/inertia by hand ?

Laika, you can have lots of inertia boxes. Take a look at an existing plane to see how they're laid out. Once you get them mapped onto the plane you can change phyRelDensity property of each one to shift weight around the plane.
