Topic: trouble with importing to OPS

I have successfully managed to export OBJ-files from OPS and imported it to Studio Max, but I´m having trouble doing the other way around. That is, when I try to import a OBJ-file into OPS when OPS is totally "clean" (no 3dobjects open) I get an error message and OPS shuts down. Or, if I have an .sm file open and try to import an OBJ-file nothing at all seems to happen. Perhaps I´m doing something very basically wrong here(?), so if someone could help me with this I would much appreciate it./Robert IP: Logged |

I am not sure, but I don't think you can start a plane from scratch in OPS (yet - add model - doesn't do a thing as far as I can tell, but I've been wrong before ), so importing something into a clean window meerly tries to copy an import into a NULL pointer. After importing a OBJ/LOD into an existing model, you need to (currently - OPS 1.2) reload the .sm file by selecting 'File->Reload Current Model' or hitting the cylcing arrows in the top toolbar. That is the only way I could get my imports to show up. IP: Logged |

Robert - also look out what materials you use. OPS always crashes when I try to import transparent materials.IP: Logged |

Laika!Ok, I´ll watch out. But how do you get transparent materials then, inside OPS? Robert IP: Logged |

Try V1.1.1 of opstudio.. .obj import doesn't work for me on the newer versions. TS
