Put your prop, your canopy, and anything else that is transparent or hidden into a seperate Max project. Get everything right and import it into OPS then work on the rest of the stuff in another project.

This gets around two problems

#1 the bug in OPStudio regarding importing to hidden objects

#2 getting your transparency settings wiped out when you fix your shading by exporting to .obj and back with normals off.

TS,
I'm a little confused on this hidden object thing. Do you think you could explain what hidden objects in OPS are? And, how do I know which are hidden, if they're hidden?

Hidden objects are like propFastSpin. You can't see it when you load the plane into OPStudio, but if you right click on the level of detail on the right for the object and select "Make active" it becomes visible.

THanks, TS...
Say, have you been able to use OPS 1.20 to import everything positioned correctly in one fell swoop?

What I do is position the pivot points using "center to object" then line everything up in OPStudio using the keyboard commands (arrows and control-arrows for fine tuning). After thats all done and I need to fix up my object with export/import from .obj I just recenter the pivots to the objects and everything gets transferred into the right place after that.
