People have been having problems with Extractor/Builder on the planes MH updated to fix the texture mapping problems.

It seems the Name List record now contains strings that have a byte count
associated with them rather than just being null terminated strings.

It probably wont upset the OpenPlane engine because it just works with offsets into the name list record but it sure stuffs up the way extractor parses
a .SM file.

Is there a new version number for this change that I can check for in the header?

Hippie.

oh, crap.

Hippie, come on over here and bitch-slap me.

When I ported MG to the PC, I did indeed make some updates to OpenPlane. I also set up the MG code so that I could build two different versions. One that spit out FS version files and one that spit out the latest version.

Except for one mistake.

The string table. That table format is actually the one that's been in use internally by FS since the day it was released. The difference comes from the fact that the version of MG used with FS was being built by an ex-employee from old code on the SGI.

I'll check the code and see about fixing the bug and putting out a new version of MG
