I am trying to edit the FM for the FW190D9. I have spent some time fine tuning the joystick sensitivy for my MS SideWinder Pro so I now have calibrated stick versus control surface movement. Slider control was not sufficient in SDOE control and required editing ini file for a value of .05. I feel some of the aircraft have either insufficient elevator travel (pitch response), excessive rate of roll or both. The FW190D9 definitely lacks for elevator response.I have PP5.2 installed along with the 1.5 patch. I extracted the data13.par file and then extracted the FW190D9.ASC file which I edited the elevator airmax values from .27 to .55, the same value as the FW190A. When I run the builder I get an unexpected Texture file error and a resulting unusable .sm file. Also, after adding the PP5.2 files I now have the following .par files in my FS directory: data1, data2, data3, data4, data12, data13, data14 and data15. Should I have all of these or should some of them been removed when I installed PP5.2? IP: Logged |

As an alternative you can use OPS to edit this value quite easily. With the PAR files, the precedence is for the highest numbered PAR file, and this is overridden by the actual files. Data1, Data2 and Data3 are the shipped par files so these should stay, the rest are probably going to be over written by the new planepack. If you are having problems with a particular aircraft, you can extract it out to its path to make sure it isn't just the way it is, or rename any par files, except 1, 2&3 that are not part of the plane pack so they are not read by the game. That worked. Matching the airmax value of the 190A of .55 seems to be too much in the 190D so I will play with the values a little more.IP: Logged | |
