Can you use any mission as a training mission? Or does it need to be named like the ones that are there - such as "Landing.mis" and "Air-to-Air Combat.mis"

Any other info on how to do training mission would be nice - I got the landing and takeoff training missions working, but air-to-air combat.mis does not show up in the list.

Also, if 2 squads are in a training mission (like air-to-air) how does SDOE know what squad to put the user in - the first one?

Thanks!

Call it anything you like, just put it under the "training" dir for the particular aircraft.

For normal missions the list of squads that appears in the briefing is based on your pilot nationality, for the training missions I would guess that it would be based on the actual plane. e.g. if it is a training mission for the SE5a and there are two sets of aircraft, a SE5a and another it would choose the SE5a squad. If the squads are both the training aircraft, then I would guess it would be based on the squadron precedence, which would be related to the order the squads are defined.

Of course this could all be a lot of crap, since it is based on no fact what so ever!

Make a copy of the air-to-air mission from one of the other planes' missions. Copy it to your training/britain/SE5 directory. Open the mission editor and open that mission. Change the planes. The plane that you originally took the mission from is the "user" plane, so change that one to the SE5, and change the other to the DR1 or Go-229 or whatever Save the mission and you're set!
