STef ranting again.

Could it be possible to change the terrain handling in OPP source code. I mean could we have terrain be computed differently.
Let say, something like X-Plane or FS for example and only keeping OPP for planes?

The code can always be changed, but what kind of terrain behavior are you looking for that Xplane and MSFS has?

Well what allows Micrsoft Flight sim to model the whole world as aposed to SDOE's 40x40? I also realize that SDoE terrain has FAR better texture mapping, but does that really take up alot of memory? When you load up MS does it load up the whole world map?

MS, CFS and XPlane are in my opinion much more open than OPP at the moment.
Static objects can easily be updated or modified, and despite the lack of real relief as in SDOE, the entire world can be "mapped".
One can create a world map and then little by little, it can be improved, with addition of objects, without rebuilding a file.

Another game I liked for it's terrain handling is F-15 from Jane's. When setting up a mission, you can add objects such as operable airbase and so.

As for textures quality, I'm not sure it has anything to do. Though, using unique textures as in OPP his memory loss.

I'm preparing a document in which I will expose some of my ideas. It will be posted at The Gazette's site soon.

My "Manifest for a better flightsim" will be delayed due to work and home cleaning (preparing it for return of wife and baby ).

Would be happy to receive gripes or suggestions from other players to. It would help a little.

I'm sure nobody cares about, but the "manifest" will never be posted, until MH will prove OPP is something else than a dead horse.
