It's taken me a while to get it together(what doesn't) , but I'm uploading the source and two executables to our model converter (MG) now.You can find it at: ftp://lynx.inertiagames.com under pub/openplane and it's called mg2_01_08.zip It contains the source as well although it will take some time to get used to as it's something that's been hacked on for the last four years by someone who finds it easier to talk to computers than people. (the namesake of our former company). I'll be releasing the source to the Fokker sometime soon so you can see how models should be put together (MG requires that the files be MultiGen Creator format). At this point it's probably mainly useful to Bryan so he can see how we dice terrain. I'm also still working on converting the shipping FS planes to our latest format (we switched to Creator from GameGen which is one reason it's taking me so long to get the planes out) and hope to release new builds of those soon. And here I thought Lector was the only person in OP land with Creator.I'm putting together some sample databases and will upload them later this weekend. Chad started putting together some instructions on modelling in OP and I'll get him to continue on it and we'll put that out as well. IP: Logged |

**************If anyone else out there has and uses Creator and wants to create models for OpenPlane, please send me an email. I'd like to have a list to give to Multigen of those people. (it will also help me to know how many people might be interested and able to use new versions of MG) ************** IP: Logged |

Ok, the Creator source for the Fokker is now available.I've also mirrored MG through an http link so that people using browsers can get to it. The links are: http://www.openplane.com/Downloads/Tools/FokkerDr1Asrc.zip http://www.openplane.com/Downloads/Tools/mg2_01_08.zip If you have Creator 2.x or higher (2.3 is preferred) this should give you everything you need in order to convert a flt file into an sm file. . Pricing and Availability A single executable license of MultiGen Creator will be available at a cost of $9,500 in November of 1997. Options for MultiGen Creator, also available in November, are priced separately; the Power Option, which features projected textures and tools, real-time data optimization tools and advanced modeling features, will be available for $3,000; Binary Separating Planes (BSP) are available for $2,500; the Terrain Option, including Delauney Terrain tools, will be available for $10,000. International prices will be slightly higher than these listed. How do you like them apples Zoy? I personally think thos prices are insane but that may be just me i know something good costs money but come on thats a downpayment on a freaking house the developmet kit for the PS2 is supposed to be around 20,000 but that includes a hardware and libraries and i think licensing i guess if people will pay then people will charge it does look REALLY good

Sp@nky,In a free-market, price is set based more on supply and demand than product quality/quantity. If you only have a limited number of customers, you clearly need to charge more money for your product in order to be successful. People in the market for the product will happily pay what seems to be a large amount money for it because without the product they themselves can not succeed at their business. See from the other side, it is funny to me how cheap this is! I build internet applications to manage information for companies across the interent - they may pay a hundred thousand dollars for a small 10 screen internet application! But this application can make the company $4 million in increased revenue. Who cares about the stupid $100 grand? Welcome to business! It's fun! ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!
