The Situation: German squadrons are in data1.par (230 Mb), and they need work because they are inaccurate. There is no way I am going to tack on 230 megabytes to the Nv3 download, which in its full version is already making me queasy. Is there any way to re-route the game so that it looks for the info for those squads in data6.par? What about having the files "loose" so they override the parfile, would that be best? Given the choice I'd like them in data6, but I don't know if that's possible. Thanks, Werner ------------------ Werner Molders Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. IP: Logged |

WM, i´m not sure if i understand all what u are talking about but if you want to change as example the german Squad01 wich is "Udet" in data3.par but it should be corrected to "Oesau" then put the new squad01.ppf in your data6.par. SDOE use the highest parfilenumber and at last the one in folder(if there is something)Rendsburger IP: Logged |

WM, As Rends said if you put them in data6.par they will override data1.par.It would be possible to delete them from data1.par by patching data1.par, which a programmer like myself could do, but why bother? Elric IP: Logged |

Thanks. I think it was NN_Tym that sent me a bunch of LW squad fixes a long time ago, but even back then we agreed he would deal with the problem on his own if he really wanted to. When I got back to the Nv3 stuff, I confused this problem with the German language translations but that's been sorted out.------------------ Werner Molders Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. just make new ones and put them in the new NV3 par file. Anything outside the par files and later down the par number overwrites anything in par 1 and 2. Remember SDOE loads par files starting from the front and if it say it loads squad1102.ppf from par1, then finds squad1102.ppf in par5 it loads it, but if it finds squad1102.ppf in par10, the par10 file is the one that will be in game unless there is a squad1102.ppf in the directory.get the idea?
