I have a few problems that popped up on the new A-36 and I need to figure them out.

The plane seems tail heavy all of a sudden and now goes into a stall if you pull hard on the stick. It acts like the CG was moved but I've only changed the model and the only parts that I've moved in OPS is the brakes and they currently have no properties.

I also need to make the elevators less responsive at higer speeds so the dive brakes will be needed.

ideas?

With the CG, if the previous model had a different 3d "origin" to the new one you imported (or the other way 'round), then the CG box or boxes could have moved to a different position. Look at the plane in CG mode in OPS and see where the CG boxes for the model is positioned. If you still have the old model's sm file lying about, compare the position of the CG boxes with the new model's sm. You can then easily correct the CG box positions by referring to the old sm file. I'm no FM guru but it looks as those the CG box or boxes moved backwards seeing from your reports that it's tail heavy.

Hope this helps.

no harm thats not it.

The P-51B and the A-36A were pretty much the same plane and the SDOE is just a new nose model. Everything else is the same only for some reason now its screwy.

Razer, as I remember the airAdvantage property can make the control surfaces less effective at higher speeds. The lower the number for the airAdvantage the less effective at high speed.

I tried this a while back and it seemed to work.

thx raider. I'm off tomorrow and I'm going to do a complete rebuild and then I'll start the tweaking of the FM and add the drag to the dive breaks.

Aha! I found the problem 20 mins after i talked to argon. I was using the wrong OPS and it was killing my prop list.

I'm back on the right versions (B1.3.0) and everything is all right. I'm redoing the prop list ont he A36 but now all is well plus I just added the code for the dive brakes and it slows down good now.

You were using OPS v1.41? BAD move!!! Only use it for DOFing, and even then turn off the 'parse proplist' option. But I still found out that the A36a had an "ultra-light engine".
