Once again guy's....I've searched the tech-section high and low, but couldn't find something useful (at least for a morron like me )Now what's the reason for this?? ......from the inside ......from the outside What I've done: 1. Exported the LOD from OPS 2. Imported into anim8or 3. changed a little bit the size (this happens even without changing something) 4. Import obj file into OPS .....et voilą ANY HELP PLEASE (and as alway's in simple words ) thx gt IP: Logged |

Looks to me like your "glass" has somehow gotten a texture index associated with it. Not sure how anim8or works, but in AC3D, I would separate the glass from the frame, set the glass to "no texture," give the glass the proper texture index color for its normal transparency, check that the texture index for the frame is the correct one (usually 1 or 2 is the index for the fuselage texture), re-merge the glass with the frame, and export the .lod again. You can also just make the "glass" a separate child part to the frame, and make sure it doesn't have a texture assigned.

I usualy build the glass and frame seperately, I'll copy the glass part from another aircraft and paste it onto mine, then simply import the glass part I made, and everything works fine then. You can also then change the texture ref. to the one you want to use for the glass rather than "sharing" one from another plane.IP: Logged |

Keep in mind OPS cannot import non-textured things. If the tex ref of a polygon is zero (ie, no texture) the LOD import function will change to something else. You will either have to add a transparent texture to your project and set its tex index to the glass polygons, or avoid using OPS' LOD import for glass parts. With Hippie's tools it's basically as simple as extracting/replacing the LOD file/building....et voilą IP: Logged |

gt, if u use anim8or u have to do a different way, because if you export window glasses as obj files in OPS then the transparency effect goes into nirwana.Try this way: open an sm file with a single texture like a crates. edit the textures path to the one u want to use.Don“t forget to check in the texture editing window the RGBA settings. Maybe u have also to change the texturesize etc. save and reload it,now your crates use the tif file u want and it looks transpareny also import the obj file you want to use and save the sm file again. No select the object and use cut from the menu. Open now your plane which you want to edit and paste the object to the tile you want.Save and reload the plane and all should work. Should be possible to make the fairings drop too. The things could be given DOF's linked to the gear, so when you raise the gear, you move the fairings.... either that, or you map it to a command as used for the opening cockpit I would suggest finding a plane with a cockpit you can open, and copying the DOF information. That should give you a good start------------------ The Pilot formerly known as W.T.G. IP: Logged |
