hello, the V1 flying bomb is strangely enough one of my favourite planes or flying objects but it has a few drawbacks. First of all the explosion is too heavy. If it hits an airfield everything else explodes as well and shooting it down kills your airplane also. Secondly it seems not to be possible to have the engine stopped prior to impact and a flame coming out of the engine in stead of a smoke trail would also be more consistent with history. I have no experience in (re)building models nor do I know to whom I should address this question so any hints are welcome. Regards, Kristian IP: Logged |

Heya kristian....Have you tried flying the V-1 in the 1.2.9 beta patch? Flying the regular 1.5 patch, the explosions are exponentially magnified- giving the bombs more power then they should have. Using the Alternate explosions option in the Beta patch should solve this...I believe the values for the warhead is accurate, but I haven't looked into it. Don't know about the flame/smoke issue-- better ask a modeler about that one....they are becoming scarce around here, but one should be along soon to answer the question... IP: Logged |

Currently, there is no way to add a flame without smoke. Im the one who origonally got the V1 flying bomb to work (That was what? 2 years ago?). I then believe it was Army Puke and FarmerJoe that put it on the Ju 88. IP: Logged |

Hey Argon, I think you'll find a good solution to the flame/smoke try using a very low (or none exhistant) smkDensity (1 or 0)value, AFAIK the flame will show up, it's not affected by this value, but the smoke generated will be all but invisible, then aslong as the engine is fire resistant there shouldn't be a problemIP: Logged |
