One thing that bugs me is being able to see through the back side of the spinner, or seeing a gap betwween the spinner and the fuselage in an external view.

There's a really easy fix for this that can be applied to all planes so you no longer
Just make the two poly's except you slide them inside the spinner and leave them double sided. The back part of the 2 polys is long enough to overlap a little into the fuselage. Make the color of the polys that slide inside the spinner black. For a p-38, rotate them 45 degrees so it looks lke an x when viewed from the end and the surface will be oriented towards the pilot

Make them hide when the spinner detaches due to damage and make sure they have no inertia properties set
