The Hs 129 model is based on the Mosquito, and has been updated from that by replacing some of the original LODs. I'm going though "the rest" of the items in the SM to make it flyable.

One oddity I noticed is that when I moved the guns from their original positions on the bottom of the plane (from the Mosquito) to their proper positions in the troughs, nothing happened INSIDE the game. That is, the guns still appear on the bottom of the plane when you go into the game.

Also, when I go to the pilot's gunlist, it lists gun 1 to 4 and cannon 1 to 4. I've deleted guns 3 and 4 and cannons 2, 3 and 4 (this is for the B-3 model) so I'd like to delete the references of these now-missing guns from the pilot. However, I can't seem to do this in OPS! How do I do this?

if the guns have a model (I.E MG's have a model on the mosq) then you can move the model. If they don't have a model you need to click on them and move the orange arrow to get the guns to move.

to remove the guns in the gunlist click on pilot in the tree, click the clipboard to bring up the op-up window to see the properties of the pilot and then remove the guns listed there that you deleted.

should look like this.

you can also click on properties on the right and delete them from the tree there.

Which is what I did, but they didn't move in the game. I know that sounds crazy! But here, here's the latest file, try it yourself:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/maury/aircraft/Hs129b3.zip

If you open it in OPS you'll see the guns JUST poking out of the troughs. However when I try it in the game, I get them in the same places they started!

This may be some sort of path, version, whatever problem. Dunno.

Ahhh, thanks.

Actually I can't. Try that too! I don't get any right-menu options for them, so there's no way to delete them. The delete key didn't work either.

I've got to go to work now so I can't send you the new file but I will when I get back.

I've fixed your elevator DOFs, and I also have your right aileron working (you'll probably shoot yourself for this one, there was a ' was missing.)

The MG's seem fine but the cannon model is in the wrong place. It will have to be moved to get the fire coming from the barrel, I can fix this in about 2 mins but like I said. I'm going to work. Mail me and I send you the stuff once I fix it and send it back after work.

nice plane by the way..

Cool, thanks. My e-mail has plenty of room.

What did I do wrong here? Is the part just in the wrong place?

Ok cool, and thanks for the help!

when you imported the cannon you place the model in the middle of the old model. When replacing a gun model with a new gun model you always place the end of the new gun over the end of the old gun. that way the gun blasts are in the same place. This is way the gunblast on the cannon is in the middle of the model.

to help explain this, lets say you make a new gun model in your 3D program, you must make sure the the muzzle is at X-0 Y-0 Z-0, and that the gun is facing alon the correct axis, the best way to see this is export a gun fro mOPS, and import it into your 3D model, you'll see one end of the gun is at the co-ords I said, the gun you make must be on the same axis with the muzzle in exatcly the same position, then when you iimport it back into OPS the barrel wil lbe in the right place and when you move it around the gunblast will stay with it.

er.. hope this helps lol

here's the latest SM file for you. I haven't tested it out in FS yet since DSL disconnects when i fire up FS.

So I fixed the ailerson, adjusted the DOFs, found a few polys that didn't need to be there in the cannon and removed them (might be in other parts but i'm not going thru every single part to fix things since I have other projects that are on the list) cannon should be in the right place.

Hope this helps you out and if you have any other questions just drop me an email.

enjoy..

Now it CDT's on my machine too. Of course that's not your fault, because now the OTHER model (for the B-2) also CDT's and I haven't touched it!

I'll check the tankage again, I likely pooched that.

I'm not sure I understand this. It appears the problem you're addressing here is what to do if I want to change the gun from looking like _this_ to looking like _that_ but be in the same place on the model. Or that's how I read it anyway.

But in this case the model for the gun is not changing. All I'm doing is moving the gun off of the bottom of the plane (where it is on the Mosq) and into the troughs on the side of the plane (for the Hs). Is there anything I have to do other than simply move the guns?

They seem to move fine in OPS, but then when I fire up the game again, there they are (both muzzle blast AND barrel) on the bottom of the plane. Bizzare!

This may sound silly, but did you SAVE the file before exiting OPS?

And what version of OPS are you using?

My mistake Maury, I thought you were giving the guns a new model and thats what was messing this up. If you'd like me to take a look feel free to shoot it my way and I'll see if there's anything I can do to help
