I'm trying to get the Hs 129 into rough shape, and a few nasty bugs have me stumped. Could you guys take a 5-minute look and see what I've done wrong? The file is off of my home page: http://www3.sympatico.ca/maury/ The problems are many, but for now I'm trying to get the flight controls working. They look OK in OPS, but they don't work in the game. For instance, the left hand elevator and aileron don't move at all. Another oddity is that the right hand elevator moves "up and down" instead of rotating, even though it's a rotational DOF. Any ideas? Maury IP: Logged |

Well, I took a quick look at it, and found the cause of the right elevator not rotating properly. The DOF is rotational, but the DOF origin (pivot point) is near the left wing. I moved the DOF marker in OPS to the leading edge of the right elevator where it should be.I also found the right wingtip had no airObject prop defined for it. The value for it was instead underneath the 'airObject' prop in the proplist. I couldn't try it-game though, it CTDed. I hope this helps. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online [This message has been edited by Harman_5 (edited 06-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

Ahhhh. I spent so much time trying to figure out why it was translational, I never... quote: I moved the DOF marker in OPS to the leading edge of the right elevator where it should be.
Thanks. Can you fire me back a copy? quote: I also found the right wingtip had no airObject prop defined for it. The value for it was instead underneath the 'airObject' prop in the proplist.
Geez, ok, thanks. quote: I couldn't try it-game though, it CTDed.
Seems to do better in 1.5 than the latest patch, if that's applicable in this case. Any ideas on why only one of the two sets of controls works? I'm at work now, but I'm guessing their proplists got re-assigned down into some other group too. Maury IP: Logged |

Hi Maury,I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a copy of it back to you, my ISP looks like it's slowly dying, although it is still limping along, my other project comps can't connect and I'm writing this on a crappy AMD 333 right now. I'll try and get alternate ISP arrangements ASAP, but until then, I'm not sure I'll be able to reply or use email. Regarding the non-working controls, I'm not sure, but your thinking is probably what it is, the props are probably dislocated. I'll be back...soon hopefully.
