Ok, say i had a part on my plane i wanted to hide by pressing a key. Now say i wanted that object to unhide by pressing the same key, can this be done right now?

Nope! Sorry... In OPS 1.3 and up, you can right click on a part in the tree and then click on Hide and then Object but thats it...

Razer, if you mean in OPS, then ArgonV is correct. If you mean in the game, then it is possible. You can use a dof on a key command that will toggle. You can make it hide, then unhide when you press the key again. The landing gear uses this. Take a look for an example.

It uses something like this;

oscEndHidden 'leftGearStrut

Let me know if you need more information.
