I need a few brave volunteers to test the technology preview of optoolkit. I need to know your machine specs and if it works or not ( at all and/or how fast ).

here is the readme, read it!

// start

optoolkit version alpha 0.1.1
-----------------------------

The purpose of this release is for platform testing only.

So far this software has been tested on win2k with nVidia 7.52 drivers.

This software requires an openGL 1.2 driver installed. It will work with
microsoft's software openGL driver (allegedly).

This release is a 'viewer' rather than an editor.

After starting the application you should see the centre panel shows blue/green
horizon. If you can't see this then openGL isn't working, please contact me
(Simon George) with your system spec.

Features :
----------

OpenGL Perspective and Orthogonal openGL of sm files and models.
View contents of a par file.
Extract all files from a par file into a specified location.
Extract one file from a par file into a specified location.
Load one file from a par file into optoolkit.
Load sm files without textures.
Point, Line and poly rendering.
Perspective LOD switching via slider 5 - 5000ft.
Property display of smRecords via the File View.
OL / XML display of smRecords via the File View.
3D/Orthogonal Zoom via right mouse button.
3D rotate via left mouse button.

Known Issues :
--------------

There is no error checking when loading files, user created sm files may
cause access violations when opening and closing files.

I seem to be leaking Device Contexts win9x users may see memory leaks.

I eats all my cpu cycles at the moment, it shouldn't.
// end

It you want to test it, post your system spec and email addr, or email elric@optoolkit.org
