After transforming the P38 into a P61 it shows up in the game but nothing works except the retractable gear. The engines will not start. The rudder and elevator do not move, nothing, dead. I have looked at the ol file for hours and went over it in OPS and I cannot see a problem. Any ideas? http://www.rcwarbirds.com/bw.htm IP: Logged |

It looks as if the properties for the engine and controls are not defined properly in the sm file. For example, on the parent model, the property "aircEngine", does the value match the name of the engine/s? For example, if you have an engine called engine1, then make the value for this property 'engine1And for the control surfaces, check the values for the "airObject" property on each wing and see if it matches the name of the ailerons. For example, you have a wing called leftWing, this has an aileron called leftAileron. In the properties for the leftWing, the "airObject" property should have a value of 'leftAileron for it. Same principle applies for the other wings, tail, etc. Also make sure you have a property under this called "airControl". This doesn't need a value. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online

Usually this is a problem with "naming" in the parent object. Is the parent still called p38 or is it p61 now? In the parent object's properties is a list of all the key parts: wings, stabs, ailerons, elevators. Those must match the names of the actual parts. If the gear works, that's your clue. Go look at the DOFs for the gear. What is the "oscParent" of the gear? Control surfaces work differently from the gear. They are defined BY the parent object, while the gear is referenced TO the parent object. In any case, the names must match up, and I believe the names are also CASE-sensitive, so if the object is 'AileronLeft, then calling it 'aileronleft in the parent properties is a no-go...Same goes for the propellers. The engine property specifies the target object for the engine, and the name must be the same as the name of the object.

That is what is odd, all the names match up correctly. I can find no reason it does not work. There is one, I just can't find it.IP: Logged |

Thanks very much guys! I fixed it! I copied the plane from the P38L sm and took out the cockpit sm to keep it simple at first. Well I just deleted the cockpit sm from the P38L and it did the same thing. So I then put the P38L cockpit sm back into the p61 file and there you go.IP: Logged |

Dealing with that cockpit can send you chasing after your taile sometimes... The in the first test pilot release for the 38L I forgot to include it in the Zip file. then I was wondering why my test pilots were PO'd at me.... IP: Logged | |
