If I were to build a Black Widow (Northrup) what should I build it over, a P-38? The Black Widow has twin engines and twin booms as does the P-38. The Black Widow is larger and a true bomber and would benifit from copying a bomber. Just thinking to myself. Not really ready for this project and the windows are many and detailed. But then again- IP: Logged |

IMO one should take his/her time. You already have 2 projects out. If your not ready for it, dont start it! At least thats what I always say. Althought who am I to talk? I have a bazillion projects of my own! (Actually its not that many, I too take them one at a time and when I do release a plane, its nearly 90% done and is up to standards) But when you do decide to make her, I would use the P-38 as a base. The structure of the P38 would be more helpful than a plane that was just 'bigger' It would have more parts in the right place, and have a part tree that was closer to what you wanted. The shape is the easiest bit to change! Go with the P38 and scale it up a bit! IP: Logged |

I've done a lot of research on this plane for another game. This was not a bomber but a night fighter/intercepter.This thing had 4 cannons and 4 50 cals firing all at once. Most crews locked the upper turret and set it up so the pilot fired all the guns. this was a killer plane only the stuff i did can't be ported over to SDOE or i'd use the stuff i made. I'd love to see this plane in game Hawk. I say go for it! I do have scale 3 views if you want them to model by. I also have texture skins setup for mapping if you don't mind taking your time on mapping the plane. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin FS Hangar IP: Logged |

Argon I am sort of stuck on my current projects, the GeeBee needs more than I know how to do at the moment but I will learn and get back to it. The P-26 has it's tail in the ground and some very talented people can't find a reason. So whats next? The air racers are not jumping off my download page so it will have to be a warrior.I am a bit timid starting a project like this. If some guys would want to chip in and help with the stuff I know I am not good at (cockpit, window frames, this plane has window frames enough for six planes :-) I might consider it. Another problem I would have is consevative modeling. I have not learned the fine art of the line yet. I think this plane could be very complex but worth it. I has remote turrent guns, spoilers instead of flaps and tons of strange items. A funny thing about the spoilers. They replaced the flaps with spoilers and they worked so good the plane no longer needed ailerons. They were afraid the pilots would get nervous if they did not see the ailerons so they left them on for decoration and consolation only! This would be a very unique and challenging plane to build and damn I am talking myself into this one. [This message has been edited by Hawk (edited 04-02-2001).] IP: Logged |

Heya Hawk...You gotta remember one thing-- whatever you model, you have to do it for yourself. Whether you have 2 or a gazillion downloads for the GeeBee is irrelevant....the only important question to answer is- "Did I have fun modeling this and do I enjoy playing around with it?"....if the answer is yes- then to hell with us....we are a hard-to-please bunch. I love the Peashooter and can't wait to see what comes out of your labor next ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |
