I want to have the wing on my GeeBeeR1 break off at a certain speed, how do I do this? I have no dorf associated with the wings yet so need to know how to add and adjust if that is what is needed, thanks.

Yup, this is done by rotational DOFs with a spring and a break property on the Y and Z axis. There is no set way to figure out what spring and break values are needed, its just guess and check.

There are a few tips however: If you want your wing to bend alot but not break off so easily, set the break value high (like 9) and, depending on the wing area, set the spring value to 5000 or lower. If you want your wing to bend alot in a direction, set the min and max values to 2 or 3 and -2 and -3. (Normally one doesnt go over 3 and -3) The more wing area, the more of a chance your wing will break and bend in a stress dive...

I think I would just like to have them break at a certain speed, bending not required. I have no dorfs in place for the wings now so how would I put them in.

Click on the DOF tab in the right hand menu. Then right click on the <no dof records> and add a DOF.
