I have reinstalled Win98 with DirectX8 and the newest Detonator3 driver. Now OPS 1.3 didnīt work,it crashed everytime if i want to open an SM file.
Before that i had Directx7 and an older Nvidea driver installed and all works fine.what is the problem:detonator3 or DirectX8???

I got the same problem, OPS works only if I remove all shading and set the desktop colour depth to 16-bit.

Menu renderer, you can choose 'flat', 'Gouraud' or 'Phong'. In fact it works if I select the shading BEFORE loading.

Anyway that looks like a DirectX problem. Bryan admitted the Direct3D code in OPS is very buggy and cannot be easily fixed. Try altering you Direct3D options... What video card do you have, exactly?

I have a TNT2 Ultra (Guillemot Xentor32) and problems appreared when I installed DirectX 8. However with Desktop depth to 16-bit, it works but very slowly.

Rendsberger,

Either one will cause the problem. For example I have two machines with different profiles.

Macine one- TNT2 board, Leadtek drivers based on Detonator2 and DX8a, OPS 1.3 crashes when I try to do anything and the model isn't displayed in either OPS1.2 or 1.3.
OPS 1.2 crashes with certain aircraft.

Machine 2- TNT board, DX7a and Detonator 3, same problem as above. I removed the detonator 3 drivers and installed a pre detonator set of drivers (cuz I don't have a copy of the D2 drivers anymore), still using DX7, problem goes away.
