Decided to play with rendsbergers download and create an way to test bombing.

What would the actual size of each airfield tile be in feet/meters? The idea is to create a "bullseye". It will need to span several tiles with a set width for each ring. All you'd have to do is temporarily replace several tiles in rhineland sunshine to run the tests.

Not every airfield or town is the same size. For example, open up any airfield in Rhineland and look at the textures. Some have 6 tiffs some have 4. To make matters even more confusing, some tiles will be 512x512 or even 256x256. A "regular" Supertiff 256x256 tile equals 2 miles or 3.218 km. Since the airfield and town tiles need to appear more detailed, they decided to use multiple tiles for an area that would normally take up about 4 "regular" tiles...make sense?

Diego,

If I pick out one particular airfield tileset, can you give me the size, or from the above post will all of the tiles together total a area of 4X4 miles (or was that 2 square miles per normal tile?)

Thanks. If I can do this and figure out a couple more things, it will also allow testing of bomb blast radius.

I'm sorry. I should have said 4sq miles per normal tile.

If you want a quikie tutorial on airfield tiles, you really need to visit SV's site. He repainted an airfield for Rhineland and he has a better explanation of what to do EXACTLY.
