Yup no sleep and I'm sure my hair is falling out because of this damn texture mapping.

It should work. I know it works, or maybe you guys do use some black magic. Please send me some of this magic. Why you ask, glad you asked.

I have this little project and am now at the texture mapping part. I can make a map, I can position the map, it looks great. But if I merge the two halves of the object (had to cut to make seperate sides) the texture jumps on one side. This happens also if I take a saved texture mapped object and put it in with some other textured objects to see what it all looks like.

Another odd thing is when I mapped the wings with one map I saved it then put them in with the fuse to see what it looked like and the fuse now had the wing map on it! Yup the fuse was saved with it's own map.

So how do I nail this damn texture to the part so I won't move for any little reason. I have spent more time re-texturing, re-aligning, and re-swearing.

I know this is vauge but I am not sure how to explain this. Stop by the bar and console me please, or bring me some Rogain.

Hmmm. More info required I think, i.e. are you using AC3D or something else?

In AC3D, you have to make sure that you "paint" the object with a "color" at the bottom of the editor, and that the "shininess" of the color used matches the texture index. If you have a .tif for the fuselage, and a .tif for the wings, they each have a different index, so the fuselage and wings each needs its own "color" with a corresponding texture index.

You also need to make sure you pick the correct index. Open the model in OPS, and count down from the top of the list of textures. Usually the first texture is the main skin, and has index 1. The second skin .tif can come in almost anywhere. If you paint the wings the texture 1 color, it will have the fuselage map on it.

Now, if you only have a single skin texture, then the problem lies elsewhere...
