First of all I want to compliment all who have spent there personal time working on the WWI packs, planes and SDOE patches. Wow what a great job your doing.

The Question:

I am currently working on a plane when I add texture in Ac3d then export the object to a Lod replacing the template planes lod(example the bottom wing of the DR1 with my new wing) then I use olc to rebuild the sm file and Open it with OPS(1.4) the texture is never their I get a blueish wing that fades out at the tips.
I have tried editing the "all maps in one tif file" and even tried just using an existing file with now luck.

I have read SV's pages and all of this boards threads and still havent figured it out.

Is this a new texture, or an existing texture used by the aircraft? If new texture, do this:

1. Add the texture reference to the .ol file. Open it up, copy the last texture reference (see my site for details on this) - now change the path to include your texture path, change the size to your texture size, make sure the flags are correct, and add 1 to the texture ID. This is your new texture ID number!!!

2. In AC3D, select all the polys that use this texture - maybe it is the whole object, in that case just select the object. Now click on a surface - the color squares at the lower left. Maybe the white one for example. This sets all those polys to use that "surface" type. Now right click the white square to edit this surface. If you want NO TEXTURE, then set the "shinniness" slider to 0. Now use the RGB sliders to set the color. If you want to use a texture, se the "shinnines" slider to the texture ID you created in step 1. The color info is not used in the case, so use any color you want.

3. Export the LOD again, now the polys of the LOD you selected will have the correct texture ID assigned!

Thank you very much for your fast response.

"Now click on a surface - the color squares at the lower left" is the part I forgot my mistake.(I take it it is like the material library in Max)

I am pretty close to finishing a FokkerDVI (I have looked around for one and didnt find one). Just trying to skin the item and figure out how to fix it's poor climb rate(if this is what they were like no wonder they only built 60) does the physics model figure out this or do I have to do this my self.

Thank you again for your time.

If you set the specs correct in OPS, then it should be close... but the tricky areas are the propeller and the airfoil, because no one really has the detailed data we need for these...
