I'm trying to import my "Open Plane" files to AC3D but there all in *.sm format. AC3D will not see that format so what do I do? What do I do if I want to go the other way around? (and yes, I'm reading the manual today.) Thanks Von.IP: Logged |

Hi von,Rather than give you a long explanation, go to SV's site. https://www.schoolmusic.com/chickencoop/se5a/v1.htm He's got real good tutorials on how to do this stuff. That's where I learned. jgro IP: Logged |

Am I blind or is this differnt?"Go to the DOS prompt an type: extractor FokkerDr1a SE5a This will go nuts and build the follwong important file(s): SE5a.asc" 1st. I had to use the decompiler "smd" as I could'nt find the "extractor" program on hippys web page. 2nd. This does'nt make any *.asc files that I can find. Do I need it? (Yes, I'm reading the web page too.) Thanks. IP: Logged |

SMD and OLC replaced the earlier extractor tools. (I suspect the web site hasnt caught up with it yet....) If you run SMD, it creates a whole slug of files from the plane. One of them is a .OL file. I you have hippies plugins for AC3D you should be able to import this file.... (SMD tears it apart, OLC puts it together....)------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |

I seem to have this weird windscreen on the DR1a I was told it was the fuel tank that needed to be hidden but when I went to Open Plane to look at this object it was already hidden. Do I have the right object? Did I miss something again? Sorry to bug you guys.IP: Logged |

I'm very new to this myself, but the image replacing the windscreen appears to be one (or more) of the smaller "parts" files; looks like the gun barrel and upper/lower wing canvas swatches have replaced the glass/reflection/glare file. That's the area I'd look into--have files been renamed or wrong references to files? ------------------ Fly Well, Dub Visit the Wing Walkers IP: Logged |

It looks the texture file for something else.... Is the part set to the right texture index? (The shinyness slider value in AC3D...)IP: Logged |

Set the LOD of that "windscreen" to 0.01 That object is the fuel tank...As for OPS not loading textures at it appears to be doing, go to View -> Preferences and set the Media Path to where Fighter Squadron is installed to. IP: Logged |

I guess I spoke to soon. I changed the LOD1 from 5.0 to 0.01 on the switchin, and saved. When I went into the game and flew the DR1a in the hanger it was looking great but I found out I did'nt have any control at all just guns? Any sugestions? again... Thanks again.IP: Logged |

Von that happens sometimes... You just need to let AI control and then take back control. Dunno why that happens, but sometimes you loose control of the plane when you start a mission. IP: Logged |
