Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me. After I save the SM I'm working on and reload it into OPS, I noticed that I've lost all the obAirfoil, airWing & airK etc etc, the obBodyparts and the inertia boxes data for that part. In the case of the P51 it's the right & left inner wing and on my Spit it's the left wingtip. Here's a screengrab to show what I mean: I first noticed it on the Spit after doing some work and giving 1.4 a try (loaded up the game and wondered why the AI had a sudden urge to become Kamakazi's!) but thought it was a problem specific to that SM so tried it on the P51 and as you can see it has done it to this as well. Any ideas Bryan? Cheers Paul

it's funny you should, say that.... Tailgunner!! Are you using OPS1.4 or 1.3??
Tail lost all the airfoil data from the La5, also on the inner wings and I thought it must be down to OL tools.... maybe not.. IP: Logged |

Funny you should say that Nat as I just saw your post about AFTER I posted!Up and till now I've been using the ol-8 tools so I had no problems with that side of things and it was only when tried OPS 1.4 that I noticed the lost aerofoil data. Lucky It wasn't very important and I saved it as another SM. I'm surprised no one else has noticed it as it certainly make things interesting when you try it out in the game! also found to be missing:24 x obFunc 6 x Damage properties 6 x inertia properties all missing from the engines After further checks, all the above information from the proplists has been compressed and put into the first obFuncs obProb. Working with Argon, we corrected the proplist and saved it using OPS1.4, then re-opend it, and it was all screwed again. Now having corrected it once more using OPS1.3, save and re-open everything is fine. Ergo, OPS1.4 has a major bug, and I certainly thank Brad for finding this, it's caused me alot of work, but atleast I know about it now. Thanks Brad [This message has been edited by Nat (edited 02-09-2001).] IP: Logged |

Yep, the La was OL'd with V9 and all seemed well. Saved it in OPS V1.4 and mailed it off to Nat.....Either OL v9 hosed the data, or it was OPS 1.4....unfortunately, both are new, so it could have been either of them. I have reverted back to old versions in both cases just to be sure! IP: Logged |

There wasn't anything too major in that area touched since 1.3, so I don't know whats gone wrong. Can you mail me the dud file Nat? Also the good file? If you just want to use 1.4 for the DOFs, you can turn off prop parsing and it will stop these kind of things [This message has been edited by Bryan Russell (edited 02-10-2001).] IP: Logged |

Bryan, thats what I do now.. hopefully OPS 2000 will be a fresh start so none of these things will happen I know once you build upon screwy code, things can only get screwer! IP: Logged |
