I've posted a new version of OPS with a fix for the annoying DOF problem, or at least the one I know about.

Read the readme for the other changes.

It isn't on the download page yet but you can get it from here.
http://www.fightersquadron.com/~bryanr/opstudio/files/OPS_1_4_2.zip

It includes the latest LOD plugin, so let me know if it is still crook.

Yup! This fixes the resetting problem alright! One thing I did notice, if you click on the red and green arrown, OPS Illegal Operations. Other than that, THIS IS GREAT!!!! No more DOF head pains...

BTW, LOD import and export works for me now!!!!!!! The mesh doesnt get slaughtered anymore!

Thanks Bryan so much! You have made me a happy man.

Bryan, ok I found one problem. Its the LOD import plugin. It seems when you import a LOD that was not exported by OPS, it gets diced up. But if you export a LOD from OPS and then import it again, it works fine.

Fix that and you will have it made.

Bryan, i love your work and i'm getting to use OPS more but i'm more then a little pissed right now. I mean no disrespect to you but the new OPS just killed the Val. I loaded the plane in the new OPS to see whats up and remembered i needed to adjust the cockpit. so i made my tweak and saved it.

Now the plane is dead!!

none of the DOFs work now and the plane wont even start off onthe ground. WTF?

the dofs are still there and everything is just like the old SM as far as i can tell but one works and the other is just a garbage file that happens to have an .sm extension.

i'm going to go cry now since i just lost 3 hours of cockpit work.

Sorry to hear that Razer, but you know what they say "Backup, backup. backup!" Probably doesn't help now I guess.

Is the SM file screwed. or are the DOF's just had it? In any case mail me the good and bad file and I'll see whats gone wrong.

Bryan, Another thing that I noticed... When you add a DOF to an object with 1.42, the DOF does not appear until you reload the SM. Its like it doesnt get updated or something. That bug is a bit annoying as I add DOFs all the time and expect them to be there. Ive opened the Val up in OPS 1.42 and it hasnt ben killed by it.

ArgonV, this is becuase I changed the way the DOF widget position and orientation is calculated, to avoid the D3DRM stuff I was using before, and didn't account for a new DOF.

The DOF isn't actually not there, the widget is just distorted, I should have did the equivilent of "DOF Align on X" after its created. You can do the same thing in the meantime, that is, after the new DOF is created, just press the "DOF Align on X" button. I'll add it in to the current source so if and when I release another version it will be there.

Also, if you load an aircraft, and the DOF widget looks squashed, or streached, or distorted in some way, it means that the Axis values are not "in balance'. In this case do the 'DOF Align' thing and re-move it.

Bryan, thanks for that bit of info. Yeah sometimes the DOF is streached like all over the place and you cant see a thing. That explains it.
