I've found that the OL tools will not extract an SM file with condors Engine DM added. It must be to much information in the engines cause it stuffs when it gets to the engine. This has happen on many planes and it always stops right at the engine. Hippe, if you can help it would really be great to get this fixed, and i'm using the latest OL tools. ------------------

do you get an error message or doest it just hang?There is a limit of 8192 chars in SMD and OLC
on property list size and it should be checking and print an error message if you go over. Can you point me at a sample file that has the problem? Hippie. IP: Logged |

Thanks Hippie, It only happened on the P-38F i have that has new engine DM. Heres what it said. Commant string to long
invalid record type : 64795074
record type count is: 73202876 ------------------

Same problem on the "new" Corsair. Once the new DM was installed, I assume the property list became too large. Still opens in OPS and works in the sim. I can try to open it with SMD again and post the actual message, but it had something to do with the byte count, as I recall. All those obFuncs and obSmokeTrails...  In the meantime, the best bet is to do all your 3-D work first, and save the DM for last...

OL Tools new version up with 16384 char limit on comments.
