I`m still having problems with my work at the Ju52 and sometimes i lose all interest in that thing.
Itīs not possible for me to make a two blades fastprop.tif, because i canīt make alpha tifs( the tifs wonīt work).
Same problem to make make cokpit glass.

Razer made a big single shadow for the plane, but i canīt remove the old ones. If i delete the shadow LODs, Hippies tools send me an error message, whilst he was creating the sm file. And i canīt remove the shadows in OP,too.
The cockpit interior with all gauges gives me the hardest problems, because iīm not a modelling or DOF Guru.
Some problems originate from my little english knowledge (LOL).

Iīm not happy about all the problems i have, and it steals so many hours and i see no progress in the moment.

Frustrated,

It's not as bad as it seems!

There are some simple workrounds for most of the problems you have here!

1) The shadows

Don't delete any model parts or remove lods manually before re-compiling the OL file. The OL file needs to find all the parts in the right order. Try removing the shadows in OPS. You may get problems with the delete, but you can still get around this! In each model part's properties is a call that draws the shadow. If you don't want the shadow to appear, delete the references in the OPS properties that says 'obShadow......'

It is best if you can physically remove the model from the part list too, but I know there are problems sometimes with this!

Alpha tifs can be a problem! You need to find a paint program that allows you to paint an alpha channel as well as the red/green/blue. Photoshop 5 is what I use.
Failing that, it would be an idea to use another fastprop, and re-size it. You should be able to modify the lod without changing the texture mapping. The number of blades soesn't matter....you can't se them!

Canopy glass is also done with an alpha texture. There is an easy solution for this though. There are transparent textures already available called 'transgrad.tif'. If you copy a part into the JU52 inOPS which uses that texture, you can then import your lod onto it. Make sure the lod you import uses the same texture erference number, and you get see-through glass.

With the cockpit dials etc.....help! I hate cockpits!

I have resorted to cheateing myself! Cutting and pasting the stock gauges from other planes does for me!

To remove 'closet' objects (Shadows etc..) make sure they have no properties (obDynamic etc...) and that they are NOT children of a Group. Then select them and hit the delete key. (All in OPS of course) For removing Groups, make sure they have no children and properties and then reload the SM file in OPS. The Group will then be gone!
