Having another semester of coop means I have another 8 months of ample free time, so I am thinking about getting back to the P40.

I do have some questions though:

Given MH's departure from Inertia, can we expect support for Openplane in the future?

I dont want to spend a lot of time working on something only to have the architecture fall by the wayside.

Mighty, are you going to be staying with Inertia and helping with Openplane related issues? If not, will you and MH be replaced?
And if Inertia doesnt plan on supporting Openplane anymore, will they release the source to the public?

The best thing we can do now is help out the Stormbird's people. They have the code, and are going to be making changes to it to support the stuff they want to do.

We should do what we've done before and get a real wish list going. One where 80% of the suggestions aren't the same thing in different versions. What I mean is that...

real balloons, real floating water == bouyancy model

this missile, that missile, that other missile == airplanes with different "special purpose" AI pilots

etc.

I'd like to see...

1) sun and moon, time of day sky effects
2) layers of clouds, more turbulance in clouds than outside
3) rain, snow, sleet, etc.
4) bouyancy model
5) real jet and rocket engines
6) different AI pilots
7) ability to fly planes by "remote control" (used with (6) above, this allows all WWII guided weapons)
8) real engine power curves, including optional boost systems like GM-1
9) engine heat vs. power curves - combined with cooling limits

etc.

Yes they own the code, and I will help them whenever possible.

But they dont own the code. Im not sure if theyre license allows the general public to help them with things or not.

As I posted a couple of weeks ago, my contract was up just about the time Michael put in his resignation. I've spoken with Ron about coming back on for Inertia's next project. Beyond that, I don't like speculating in public.

I think Maury has some interesting ideas for additions.

Nvidia drivers I suspect, it's not a problem with the V5500 in D3D although resolutions above 800x600 are (but that's another story).
