Well, I don't know for sure if this is related, or is just an odd glitch, but here goes anyway.

When playing with the new DM for the B17, I found a problem with smoke from the engines. Set at 0,0,0, the smoke should come from the centre of the nacelle, but it came from the middle of the plane.

The engines and nacelles were built for a previous incarnation, using OL tools. Didn;t think it a problem, coz there were no DOF's invovled. The wing smoke, fuel tank smoke etc. all came from where it should. These were either original, or imported as centred LOD's into OPS V1.0.

Is it possible that the OL export from AC3D is doing this?

It makes sense! If the parts are positioned on export relative to the centre of the SM, and translated to the right position, OPS could be getting fooled. If OPS translates that as a part centred at the origin, it's DOF's would be moving relative to that origin. They should move relative to the parts origin, not the models. It would explain a lot!

It might also explain why I could never get obModel to work on a plane I built with OL tools......tried to obModel in a Vtab, and it always came out a plane length behind and a little above where it should be!

Anyone in the know (hippie, Bryan?)able to confirm if this is anything to do with things?

I've switched away from using OL for the present, despite it offering a lot by way of part alignment. If it screws the centres , it's a no go.
