Grrr..... damn textures. I just went through hell geting the texture references just right on the panel and now its skrewed up and I dont know why! Here is a picture. The textures get all f**ked up, streched and all that! They show up just fine in AC3D too!

Any suggestions are very welcome!

have you tried it on another machine?

Looks very odd. I can't think of anything that would affect the mapping like this.

Were the dials new, or are they re-mapped or copied?

If you want, I'll take a look at them and see if I get the same results. We need to gather a bit more data, and perhaps a fresh outlook may help. I know when I get problems, it is all too easy to miss stuff, you are just too close to the problem

Happy to help any way I can!

The Dials are brand new, taken from pictures of an acutal Komet cockpit. I sent it to Argon and he reported the same problem. I think its a problem with textures. Wakeup, give me a few minutes and I'll try and mail it to you.

Aha! The dreaded Salvadore Dali virus!

Don't worry, it only effects graphics that look like dials or clocks.

No offense, but I need help, not jokes. This is a serious problem and I cant figure out why it doesn't look right. So please, censor your comments to include only useful information.

What happens when you try to texture the dials with a different texture? Maybe try using a texture that you know turns out right. Then maybe try cutting and pasting a dial from a working plane onto your panel to see what happens. Are the gague objects totaly flat?

It looks like the panel textured OK, so it's wierd that the gagues turned out like that.

Anyways, those are some things that I would look at if I were you.

You didn't by any chance, re-size or re-shape any of those guages AFTER texturing them, did ya? If you delete a point or a face, or shrink or move something on the model, it will distort the existing texture map.

Try making new .tif files using the same pictures, and remapping the guages.

Well, I guess thats what its come to. The guages look fine in AC3d, but skrewed up here. I thought at first that OPS was corrupting my file, so I imported it using OL8, but no-go. I guess I will have to retexture.

It looks to me like a standard 3d api bug kinda thing. If you are in direct-x, try changing the 3dfx. If you are in 3dfx, try changing to direct-x. See if that does anything first...

Since it only happens at certain zoom distances I'd have a look at the level of texture and level of detail settings..
