Hi all,

Things have been going extremely well with the engine damage package I have created for all the sdoe fighter planes included with plane pack 6.0. All feed back has been very positive so I am opening testing to everyone as long as you understand this package affects all sm files for all the fighter planes and is not online standard. A readme is included with the 3.9 meg zip file with all the details. Once installed, to switch back to online standard you will have to rename your aircraft directory to something like aircraft_save or similar.

I am looking for any and all feedback and I am especially interested if you feel it should or should not be considered for online standard in the near future.

Certain planes like the corsairs, p47, pe2, and few others are being worked on (I believe for pp6.0a) by their owners and will include a much more extensive overall damage model. My changes mainly impact the engines and the probability the engines will get damaged instead of the wings always falling off first. The feedback I have gotten indicates this package makes sdoe more immersive and more fun, especially when you have to limp back to base with a smoking, fuel leaking engine, or no engine at all.

The zip file is at: http://www.fshangar.com/projects/SdoeEngineDamageV2.ZIP

You can email me or post your suggestions here on this thread.

Thanks,

Thanks SchaF!

You made my day! I am glad the engine damage worked to your liking. It really adds to the realism.

Just be glad it doesn't fall . . . er, I mean glide like a real 190 with a dead engine!

Condor,

I was looking through the list on the readme. You have the Fw 190D using air cooled damage. The 190D used a "Jumo 213 A-1 liquid cooled inverted vee engine..."

Or, did you miss putting an asterisk behind it?

Hi Da Jug Head.

Thanks, I will look into it tonight and fix it if need be. Let me know if you see any others that don't have the correct cooling system shown in the readme file.
