...there's a new 3.2 version that works much better. Unfortunately the normals are still messed up. You can't really import whole plane 3D models with this tool, but the imported shape can help you in your modelling tasks. Ooops maybe I should start explaning what it is first! For those who don't know, MDL is the 3D format used by FS98 and CFS, and DXF is a very common format (I think it's from Autocad) that any decent 3D prog will import. I have found this useful at times! The scale is way out, and the quality of CFS/FS planes is a little variable, but some are not too bad! What they are useful for is to provide a 3D template around which to build a proper model. I have built a few models this way, re-building each part in turn, using the CFS model to give an impression of the final shape. Try to use a CFS model, and you will hit snags! Building from scratch is far easier! IP: Logged |

ROFLMAO I love that TG, use crappy FCS models to build SDOE proper models around, and so true, they make good templates, but thats about it.. LOL Infact, this is the way I prefere to work myself, I just can't get the hang of using 3 way views, so I look for a model and build around it, even if it's one from SDOE that looks very similar..LMOA CFS models are only good for templates..
