never mind, i can't ever get things to move right in OPS so i'm just going to go back to the moving parts in AC3D and not with OPS..IP: Logged |

Don't move "closet" items in OPS, these items are positioned in special ways. For example, the damage LOD replacement models will replace the parent using local coords, so just make sure both are centered around the origin. Where there apear in OPS is of no consequence.Prop blur is another model that replaces a model the same way. Shadows are automaticaly positioned - I think the shadow numbers in the prop list play a roll as well. Anyway, move the shadow object in AC3D becuase where it is in its local coordinate system is what matters. OPS does not let you edit the mesh at this level... ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!

SDOE uses the cords in the properties list to place the shadows. Moving them in OPS wont do nuttin. Now if the shadow object isnt used as a shadow object, you can move it in OPS and it will show up in the game where you moved it to... but whats the point in that?IP: Logged |

thanks SV, moving the model was what i was doing before. i'll just go back to it. The show on the ki-61 will be sweet. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin "Making SDOE a dangerous Place, One plane at a time!" FS Hangar IP: Logged |

If the shadows are not showing at all this is most likely the LOD (or, less likely, texture) flag problem. The flag I use for the LOD on my MiG-15 is e0 ; this tells OpenPlane the shadow is a twosided object (8th bit to 1) with the highest subface value (7th and 6th bit to 1 as well), which means that it's drawn on top of every other object with a lower subface value, eliminating shadow flicker. For more info on this check the OpenPlane docs.-Gecko =FC= IP: Logged |
