My Jagdfaust is working well, but still no kills. The rockets go too slow to hit the bomber overhead. So, I want to use a REALLY BIG SHELL, like flak, but does enough damage to rip a bomber to pieces. So, how would I get a flak gun on my plane to fire when the pole brakes? Oh... the questions never end.IP: Logged |

Hey Aladar, I managed to speed up the firing rate by changing the ripple to 1 in the loadout.ppf file AND get rid of wind resistance... But I have yet to get a kill... I even flew under a B-17 myself and shot and STILL didnt hit anything.... IP: Logged |

ok, this might have been missed in one of my past posts, but there's something you should know about Flak...it wont miss, well, ok, it wont actually hit either unless your damn unlucky and fly inot where it bursts, but the thing is, you don't even have to be pointing at a target to fire at it, you can fire through mountains, buildings, ships, anything at all, if the target is south of you, and you fire north, the gun flak still explodes around the target. Thing is this though.. you can't just fire flak at something, you >>MUST<< target it first, but once thats done, it doens't matter one little bit which way your gun is pointing, you'll get the same result, guess it's pretty much an "uber" weapon anyway, if you still wanted to use a flak to do the job, start off with the warhead size set to 10, you wont hit your target, but the blast might just do the damage you want. Oh, btw, I've fired and downed aircraft over 10 miles away using flak, thought I'd test a therory.. well, I let an aircraft come within range, locked onto it with flak on a ship and started firing, and kept on firing.. while I was doing this I switched into F5 to watch the plane, and sure enough flak bursts.. regardless of the range, until finaly (took ages) I did enough damage to down it. er... bug? lol ------------------ 7./JG3 "Naturlich" "SDOE... Nat, flak is just what is needed! That way it will always hit the target overhead. Only problem is, is that Flak comes from a gun and for the love of me I cant get a gun to fire with a function.... If I could, I would also put in inpTargetNearestHostile to lock on the B-17 above.... But since I cant figure out how to get a gun to work with a Func.... oh well.IP: Logged |

is there any reason you can just pull the trigger? or was this pole thingy part of the operating system for the weapon? If you are having to use a pole, well, try putting a little box on the end of a pole on a dof, in normal flight the pole can be lain down through the fuse to avoid accidental collision, when your about to attack using the weapon use a keystroke to activate the dof so that it rotates to extend above the aircraft, a small inertia box, low obhits, and big explosion strength should do the trick, oh, and disable the damage chain Infact..... make a long pole with the explosive box ontop, the pole should have obnocollide and be aslong as you want the weapon to fire above you, put the pole on a translation DOF with a key pres to activate it, it'll then shoot upwards.. maybe thats an idea IP: Logged |
