We're getting close enough to Beta 1 that the nose wheel on the PBY has started moving even when the plane is stopped. Have played with the dofSpring and dofDamp values but haven't been able to get rid of the twitching awfuls.... Is there a way to figure out what it should be?

Hey Snick, I've just about finished the engine side of my new DM, if you want I can drop it in there and we can do the dials later (or when I've worked out exactly what to do) Finished primary testing and I'm very happy with it, so when you're ready, send me it over, I'll drop the "new" engines in there and we can test the results before Beta release. Oh, when you do send it, let me know how maney cylinders it has per engine, I'll need that

One small step for Snick, one giant leep for SDOE kind

Damn, I also meant to say that I have a similar problem with the IL2's tail wheel, you can come to a stop, lock the brakes on, and the tail whhel keeps right on moving, and is actually slowly turning the aircraft round, I'd like to give ideas, but I haven't worked out what the deal is yet, so I'll be watching answers here myself

In my case this is a vertical motion and makes takeoff dang near impossible.... (ie a showstopper... ) This happens when you come into a mission parked on the runway or when you land (it makes landings hard too.... )

HEY WT!!!!!! look at the dofSpring. This may be what is making the water continually splash! Either that or dofDamp. If you still have the old PBY get rid of these values and try landing on water. Of course, you may tend to rip off the gear if you are not carefull...

RE: Bounce'n PBY...

Make sure you don't have brake properties on the nose gear. Regardless if it's historic or not, for some reason with FS, if you have more'n two wheels apply brake, it bounces...

Only two brakes and those are on the main wheels. This started happening when I imported the LOD that is the correct size tire for the nose wheel on the PBY. The wheels on this plane have been driving me bats! Not the DOF's those were easy. When I watch the tires I feel like I am in Micky's Toon Town. Everything wobbles etc etc... That in addition to the bounce on the nose wheel....
Help?!?
