Ive ben curious about this for quite some time... It could open new doors in SDOE if we knew how they worked. That would mean towing gliders and a ton more other stuff. So would either one of you two be kind enough to explain to me exactly how they work and will they work on anything else but the pilot and his parachute? Thanks! IP: Logged |

Not well. You can define ropes of a sort, but they behave more like bungie cords. I'm afraid that we didn't need them for RC Sim, so no real work has been done to improve them IP: Logged |

LoL MH! But HOW do you implement them? Whats the trick? For the love of me I cant get them to work. (Maybe I should love myself better? )I attached some rope points to an object and then I attached some rope points to a child of that object and nothing! IP: Logged |

The whole area is shrouded in mystery! I have tried to attach parachutes to things before, and had no luck. OPS gets twitchy in some areas, and this is definitely one of them. Any light shone on the whole area of pilots, gunners and bailing out would be most useful! I wanted parachute bombs, and a cargo drop type loadout for the Lanc. Tried, couldn't make the chutes work. It all looks simple, but nothing does what it looks like it should.... IP: Logged |

Michael,When you have some time to breathe once you get RC Sim out the door, this would be a GREAT thing to improve upon for SDOE. So much could be done with these rope points. IP: Logged |

MH & crew (or community if there is a difference ...), I really need to be able to drop a crate or some other object with a parachute attached.... (preferably 2 chutes....)------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |

The critical bit that probably isn't obvious is that the two objects which are linked by "ropes" must be detached from one another. The first thing that happens with the crew member when he ejects, is that he detaches his chute object. It's only at that point when the ropes start doing their thing. IP: Logged |

Michael, that's it? If that's simple answer is the key then that reply may have just opened the floodgates.THANKS! btw, I just got hired by SkyWest Airlines at the Palm Springs airport working full time. That job in conjunction with my 3D graphics job is going to keep me WAY busy. I'd love to have worked on a towable glider for SDOE, that either that Ju-52 or better yet, a C-47 could tow up and release. If any of you modelers out there can make this happen that would ROCK! If I'm able to squeeze in any tinkering time for OPS I will look into it too. This sim continues it's fantastic record of getting better each day, an amazing feat considering how long it's been on the market.
