Well, I was screwing around with WWI agian today so Id thought Id update the good old Zepplin... (Thanks for making that Pete!) I know its a lost cause as there is a new WWI Zepplin in the works but I just couldnt resist.I did update it a looong time ago (I put guns, a bomb load and a simple DM on it and made it go tads slower) but I felt like I could do more with it now! So I added the obBodyPts, landing gear (Im still tweaking the landing gear) and made it tons slower and more AI friendly! She now flies at around 45-60 mph with a full bomb and fuel load of 15000 pounds (Depending on the AI. The AI slows her down after a while to around 55 but starts at around 60) and you can land her at a constant 30-32 mph with engines off! Yes you can coast FOREVER and only loose a few feet at a time! Right now Im working on the takeoff system. She can take off at about 45 mph, but thats from the ground. What I intend to do in have a few dofs push the gear down slowly so you will rise straight up when you turn your engines on. Just thought Id let you know what else Im up too... IP: Logged |

Diego, Hehehe I WISH I could but I cant! I dont have AC3d and even if I did it would take me many many moons to figure out what to do with it! For now I'll stick with only OPS. I may get into modeling some day...IP: Logged |

Well, I FINALLY got this things landing gear to work correctly WITHOUT breaking. I also FINALLY got the AI to turn this thing like a zepplin. It also bombs too! Taking off is a bit of a pain for the AI right now tho. It wants to pitch up too much to gain altitude and thus stalls the zepplin.I need some airfoil info please. The AI like to pitch WAY too much on an empty bomb load. So I need some airfoil info on how to get the AI to fly this thing steady as rock. THANKS in advance! IP: Logged |

Diego, if you got pics, I can turn it our real quick! If I could use OPS at work, my projects would get finished in no time!I run a 2 pc set up in the office, and while one is number crunching performance reports, the other is running AC3D. So a nwe model would be really quick to do. It's all the other stuff that takes the time! p.s. Got some time off coming end of next week, so I can get stuck into finishing those airfields!!!!!! WEll problems ALMOST sloved! Delete an airfoil here, change an airfoil over there, redo it agian, change the engine properties here, move inertia boxes there. She now turns with AI WITHOUT loosing any altitude! Before she would slowly descent at a speed of 40. Also got rid of a large portion on the pitching after releasing the 50 or so bombs. I havent found a fix for the AI to take off correctly yet tho.More to come! IP: Logged |
