I cant get the Barracudas rear gun/turret to move and I cant figure out why, now lets not point out the obvious, i'm not stupid . I am using the Pe2's Navigator body. I think I messed it up when I renamed it from navigator to wireless, if so, what do I need to change?

Make sure all the DOFs for the turret reference the main parent object ('barracuda, presumably). Also make sure it's using the same case, i.e. if the parent is called 'barracuda, the DOF must reference 'barracuda, not 'Barracuda.

When I have a DOF that isn't working, it's a problem with the property names 9 times out of 10.

Aladar, just started working on the guns in the back of the Barracuda to make them move. (Started work on it about 10 min. ago) I got the guns to move! Im going to go align the view now and get the guns to fire and then I'll send it to ya.

OK, view aligned and guns firing. Youll have mail in a couple of minutes.

Ok here was the problem:

You had the Wireless object (Not the actuall Wireless pilot) have all the view properties. This is not how its done... See if you were to give the Wireless object the DOFs so it could rotate (Which luckily you didnt do) The whole object would of rotated including the Wireless pilot because hes a child of that object. So What I did instead is give the gun base (Gun UBK object) the view properties and the gun properties and told it to be obCrewType 'gunSlew. Now it moves! (You already had the DOFs defined for it) I just deleted that viewNavigator object as it was useless.

If you have no clue what Im trying to say just look at the update I sent you.

Are you sure? I just checked the zip I sent you a while back. Everything I said above has ben changed. Did you extract the SM file somewhere else? Or open up the wrong SM file in OPS?
