Boom!Which one is the "wrong" version of OPS? You can get OPS 1.3 here, look under "downloads": http://www.fightersquadron.com/opstudio/ That is Bryan Russellīs (the guy who made OPS) site. There you can also find OPS-tips. Another site with good tutorials on how to build planes for SDOE is SVīs OpenPlane site: https://www.schoolmusic.com/chickencoop/se5a/index.htm He uses Ac3d to build so that should suit you. And lastly you need a lot of patience... Donīt hesitate to post any questions here on the forum, everyone are very helpful. Good luck! /Robert [This message has been edited by Robert (edited 10-21-2000).] IP: Logged |

Strange, but when I go to your page SV, using my bookmark for it, it actually say "https" in the location bar...And since I copied/pasted the address the "s" came along... /RobertIP: Logged |

Oh, I see. I think a while back I had a bad link in my signature with the https. I would fix the bookmark. It will work, but much slower as it is encrypting the whole page including images! Sorry...

only if i knew were to start lods, dof ,propertys ,building the plane do i need to build parts first and do you need to build like tial damage aswel and how about these things(obDynamic) (obProto 'CAircraft) (obClass 'fighter) (phyLBS 6894) (aircLeftWing 'leftWing 'wingTipL) (aircRightWing 'rightWing 'wingTipR) (aircHStab 'horzStabL 'horzStabR) (aircVStab 'vertStab) (aircEngine 'engLeft 'engRight) (aircVa 250) (aircVmin 150) (aircLandingSpeed 115) (vehTire 'noseWheel 'leftWheel 'rightWheel) (vehSteer 'noseGearStrut) (phyMPH 0) (obDamage (obHits 45 obExplodes 2.5 35)) (obShadow ( 'MeMainShad 1.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 1.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 0.00000 1.00000 0.0 0.00000 0.73935 -6.29200 1.0 'meBodyShad 1.00000 0.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 1.00000 0.00000 0.0 0.00000 0.00000 1.00000 0.0 0.00000 0.73935 -6.29200 1.0 )) (onChildDetach 'leftWing (obUnhide 'LWBodyDmg)) (onChildDetach 'rightWing (obUnhide 'RWBodyDmg)) (onChildDetach 'tailSection (obUnhide 'TSBodyDmg)) (obScore 100) (obFuel ( (CapacityGal 474 Type 'Aux ) (CapacityGal 203 Type 'Main ))) (plus ( phyRelDensity 0.250000 phyCylYInertia 2.639460,5.000780,2.639460 phyCG 0.000000,7.522710,0.319915 )) (plus ( phyRelDensity 1.000000 phyCylYInertia 3.656460,5.656970,3.656460 phyCG 0.000000,2.193840,0.028884 )) (plus ( phyRelDensity 0.500000 phyCylYInertia 4.446310,9.610760,4.446310 phyCG 0.000000,-5.440030,-0.268641 )) (obBodyPts (verts 0,10.2454,0.407998 1.77278,-10.2454,-2.037 -1.77278,-10.2454,-2.037 )) (obWheels 4.88138,-5.05197,-6.31978 -4.88138,-5.05197,-6.31978 0.250001,8.84438,-5.11625 ) (onChildDetach 'leftWing (obBodyPts (verts -1.62813,5.02232,-1.36176 -0.775298,5.02232,1.75881 ))) (onChildDetach 'leftWing (obBodyPts (verts 1.62813,5.02232,-1.36176 0.775298,5.02232,1.75881 ))) rally dont know what all the numbers mean only the words like obhiden andso please help me------------------ der boom IP: Logged |

Boom!I donīt think you have to worry too much about those numbers yet. First I would suggest you just try to learn basic OPS handling; importing parts, copying, pasting. Yes, you need to build the parts of your new plane, thatīs what you use Ac3d for. Then you import the parts of your new plane to OPS, using an existing plane as a base and gradually replace the different parts of the old plane with the ones from your new.Clear? If you look in the Help-file that came with OPS, there is a good tutorial on how to start making a plane and copying/pasting parts. You can also check this post, it explains a few things: http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001166.html Good luck/Robert IP: Logged |

That depends on the "vertex scale" in the Max2Obj export dialouge. Change it to suit your needs, and then make sure you donīt change it between different exports. If you do some parts will be too small and others too big./Robert IP: Logged |

Iīm not sure if this is how you export from Ac3d, since I use 3dMax myself, but I guess it works in the same manner.(If Iīm wrong, someone tell me)You change the "vertex scale" like this: When you export a part from Ac3d a dialouge window pops up, right? In that window you can check things like "texture coordinates","normals" and so on...In this window look for "vertex scale". Do you see it? Look what number it is set for. If it is set to 1 that means your object will be exported at its original size, 100%. If it is set to 0,5 it will be exported at half its size, 50%. 2=200% and so on, I think you get the picture. Change it to what is right for you. I hope this helps, as I said I use 3dMax myself and Iīm not totally sure how exporting from Ac3d works. /Robert [This message has been edited by Robert (edited 10-22-2000).] IP: Logged |

In AC3D, 1 unit = 1 foot in SDOE.For background images (used as a plan/guide) 1 foot = 100 pixels. There is a section at my site about working to scale in AC3D. That was the first question I had ------------------ -Sv =FC= WWI in SDOE!
