I have looked at all the posts in the past on this subject, and I am still confused!

I would like to be able to create a model part in AC3D, texture it, and import it straight into OPS.

I can't

.OBJ......not supported by AC3D.
.LOD......I still get swiss cheese even with Lodfix
.WRL......VRML2 export, which should be the same as VRML97, I understand, does not work. It exports from AC3D, views fine in 3dExplorer, but when you try to import it, OPS does not see it at all.

Can someone who knows the answers please enlighten me! in English if possible! or suggest a workaround which doesn't involve spending money......

Use OPS 1.08 and import your LOD parts into OPS and save the file .sm file - no adjustments. Fire up the latest and greatest OPS and open your .sm there for the rest of the changes.
