The question of Water and it's effects need some explanation, and no one in the community seems to be able to tell me wht I want to know!

1)What determines the size of 'splashes' in water

2)What material properties do ice and glass have....I need to make a plane that can taxi without wheels....is there a low friction surface which can do this properly.

3)Did obWaterPoints ever get implemented. I have heard they were considered, but don't know if they ever got past the concept stage

4)Does RC SIm support water landings for seaplanes, and if so, is ti possible for a patch release in the future( work schedule permitting of course!)

Hope this post gets noticed, since it could well save me an immense amount of fruitless testing....time I just haven't got right now!

1) It looks like the size of the splash is based on the size of the explosion, if there is one, or the size of the object that caused the collision. I don't see anything that adjusts the splash based on object speed.

2) Don't know off the top of my head.

3) I've never seen the discussion of obWaterPoints. Michael has never mentioned it. I don't think it's been looked at, yet.

4) No, R/C Sim doesn't have any water-borne objects.

thanks for the info....

doesn't help unfortunately! but thanks anyway. Guess that reduces the chances of water landings being implemented in the patch (if there ever is one).

Oh well, back to the drawing board

I don't think Michael ever mentioned obWaterPoints (that I recall anyway...) I do recall him mentionioning how there would need to be changes made on how water causes damage. I did not got the impression it would be includeded in a patch (but we will be more than happy to test it for him )
I suspect there would need to be some compensation for buoyancy. In the end this (plus the modified damage effect of water on a sea plane...) would determine if a plane would sink or float, land or be destroyed...

Oh, that was from a conversation on the dragonseye fsbeta forum about last year.

There is old Chinese proverb which say...
