OK, i'm tired of working on planes for awhile so i'm going to start making some weapons to be used at a later date. I made new Mavericks for NAT's A-10 (see below) and i also want to make some Snakeyes for it along with new Paveway and Paveway II. Is there a way to have a DOF on a bomb so the fines open after release? IP: Logged |

Someone (Raider?) posted a method to call DOFs from other events (like onDetach) a few weeks back. Can't remember the specifics, but I can hunt for it if nobody remembers. Also, the fins on the Snakes "snap" open pretty quickly, so I bet you could just use a hidden part that looks like open fins, and have it unHide on detach. Cool missiles btw ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Very true jedi. ANd that does look good razer. Whats the name of the bombs that go down on a parachute and then fire themselves under the tarmak before exploding underground to damage an airbase? We need those.

Razer, here are the directions for calling a dof from and onDetach or onDmg event http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/001099.html The only thing is that I am not sure if it will receive the command from the Parent Object if it is detached. If it doesn't work, I also believe the obUnHide method should. Good luck, I would really like to see this. PS. Let me know if you need to see an example, I can send you my test plane. IP: Logged |

these will go wicked with the new mounts I'm creating There are some wicked Retarded Fall bombs that we could make, the main ones on the A10 have a kind of ballon parachute from the rear.. here's some stuff.. wish we could do this with the HUD MK-82/ MK-84 Air Inflatable Retard (AIR) High Drag General Purpose Bombs. These are standard bomb bodies modified by attaching a BSU-49/B (MK-82) or a BSU-50/B (MK-84) tail assembly. The AIR provides a high speed, low altitude delivery capability by use of bomb retardation. This increases how far behind the aircraft the bomb impacts and reduces the danger of the aircraft being hit by weapon fragments. The tail assembly consists of a low-drag canister unit containing a ballute (combination balloon and parachute), and a release lanyard assembly that opens the canister releasing the ballute. The ballute assembly is made from high strength low porosity nylon fabric. Ram air inflation is accomplished through four air inlet ports toward the aft end of the ballute. The weapon can be delivered in the low-drag mode (canister remains closed after release) or in the high drag mode. This option is selectable from the cockpit.

here is a few things i'm working on, most will work on the A-10, but they are mostly good for modern jets. these aren't mine, i got them off another site. I'm just using the images to help create the new ones. Thanks Raider, i can't do DOF work but i'll check it out. . . . [This message has been edited by Razer (edited 09-20-2000).] IP: Logged |
