Well, I got HEAPS done today! Actually started to tweak the airfoils and weight to get the darned thing to travel farther. You know what, it travels heaps farther!!!!! See look:

That is where you can start droping now.

I also deleted some useless airfoils and got other ones working correctly. What this does? The torpedo now no longer becomes tail heavy in the water. Its falls, hits the water, the "charge" unhides and gives the appearance that the torpedo jumped to the surface agian, then it goes under slower. But it stays level and travels farther! This thing really does act like a torpedo now!

I also got a descent texture for it. So now its no longer just black. BUT I need someone to smooth the model for me in a 3d program. Will anyone do this for me?

So who wants to test out this new and improved torpedo? Im trying to perfect this thing the best I can and hopefully in the end, have something that totally kikks butt. Since I cant test all aspects of what might happen, I need testers. You still have to follow the same dropping procedure... E-mail me if you want the latest copy.

P.S. In the process of tweaking airfoils and inertia boxes, I accedently made it a skip bomb. What it did was hit the water go under, pop out of the water and glide thru the air a ways and then splash down agian. It was interesting to watch but that was so long ago....... I like it not being a skip bomb.

I just clocked the alpha v1 and the alpha v2 torpedo distances in water. I went from 7-8 seconds of water time with the alpha v1 to 12-14 seconds of water time with the alpha v2. A HUGE improvement.

Send it over yonder so I can really see if it works like you claim . I remember AoP, torpedos in that game were impossible.

On the way. This is THE latest version. Its smoothed, textured, works well and I believe its more forgiving. (allows for more human error) Tell me what ya think. I may release it tomorrow if no one finds any problems. (Besides the nuclear problem when droped from 6000 ft. or above)

P.S. If the new texture doesnt show up, delete you cache files. I had to.

Looks pretty nice. I don't blow myself up with it now Can't get it to reliably detonate so far. Too close--dud. Too far--runs out of "obHit fuel." Just like a real one I guess. More practice required. I could make ver 1 explode, but it got me in the blast as often as not.

Thanks! The newest version is now smoothed and textured better. Also, I now have the Mk.13 and the German torpedos available. its nice to have a different one for the Allies and the Axis powers.

For a reliable detonation, fly steady and straight as you can and drop it 10-11 seconds to target. Heres how I can tell to drop it:

When making runs on the Yamato and the Scharthorst, wait till you see the main masts appear and the little flag on the very front of the ship. Drop it exactly 1-2 seconds after those appear.

Hi ArgonV,

Could you email me the alpha version2 along with a working loadout.ppf for just about anyplane. I think I have the all planes posssible to have right now. Yes, I still can't get the loadout to work for the beaufighter 21.

Thanks,
