Hi Hippie,Mposis informed me that you might be able t convert the j3d 3d files in WW2 fighters into Ac3d. An example of the 3d file (it's just a text file) is included in: http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum14/HTML/000326.html On a second note. How do I edit SDOE models in 3dmax. I do not have ac3d to convert the models. Cheers! Tiger2

No need for different languages. Hippie is from Australia too. Bryan Russell and Spyder are also from Australia. Without them we can't build anything for SDOE.

ok, you need OPS by Bryan Russel, this will let you open up the SM files, it will display them in 3D with all the parts and properties, you click on the part you want to edit so that a yellow box appears round it, then export it and an obj or vrml file (I suggest obj right now).OK, you need the version of max plugin Max2Obj and Obj2Max that works with your version of Max, that will let you import the obj, edit it, and export it again, then simply go back to OPS, click the part you want to mod, import the obj you worked on in Max and there you go This is the ultra basic explination ofcourse ~Nat~

But languages are fun, Mposis Good to see that Hippie is also an Aussie, though.Cheers! Nat. I just dl'd some OP thing before, but I haven't looked at it. I am not sure if I have those plugins, however. (although they do sound familiar) Where's the best place to obtain them. Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie. Oi, Oi, Oi. (sad but appropriate) Tiger2 IP: Logged |
