Hmm... I have a mission using the B-29 that spirals the bomber up to 20,000ft and then proceeds to target. The problem is that at about the same point as the bomber is turning into it's actual flight to the target, 50% of the fuel is gone, whether I set the fuel at 1500, 3000,5000, or 49995 LBS of fuel in the mission editor. The fuel in the mission always burns the same.Am I really missing something here? Aside from HP adjustments the engines are the same as in the Lanc. I am going to try the mission with both the Lanc and the B-17 but I truely doubt that the fuel problem will be any different. IP: Logged |

Hey WW, well, you might have checked this, but you didn't mention it above... far as I know your plane can only hold as much fuel as fits in it's tanks... sooooo if your tanks hold 1000lbs of fuel, and it burns off half that in climbing, it wont make any difference if you try to give it more fuel in mission editor, it still only holds 1000lbs of fuel. You need to enlarge the capacity of your fuel tanks I thnk bro ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

The B-29 is decked out with 5608 gal tanks in the wings (total) and 1333 in the fueslage for a total of 6941. At 7.2lbs/gal that makes a total fuel capacity of 49975.2 lbs of fuel. I tested it with the Lanc as well. It carries at least 649 gal per wing (actually a lot more since that is just the inner wing tank capacity, but I don't feel like checking right now) and reacts the same. Not unless their is another bug which involves only one 'Main type of fuel tank being recognized. IP: Logged |

hhmm.. you last sounds about right.. did you add/remove/rebuild any engines? could it be that you have an engine doubled up in the same position as another making it hard to see, or have you changed fuel consuption? I doubt it's any of this, but I can't think of anything else right nowIP: Logged |

Changing the SFC seems to have no effect (I think I did it for all engines). A bit more adjusting today didn't help matters. I did reduce the spin up distance, but it only meant that the plane almost made it home before running out of gas.IP: Logged |

If you based the plane on the 5.3 lanc, it has a known problem where the fuel disappears really quickly compared to the 5.2 lanc. The SFC values appear to be the same though.

Yep, but I think it has to do with a bad fuel tank or something then, based on the fact that no matter how big big a tank is added, it reacts the same.IP: Logged |
