I want to get into OP. Yeah, yeah, many have tried, many have failed, but with the completion of Abbeville Field, I'm taking a look at vehicles again. I have some ideas based on past experience with computer programming, but I was hoping one of you could point me in the direction of the basic stuff needed to learn the language of op. I have no intention to do 3d modelling, so pls skip the ac3d/3dsmax bit. Codes and an OPS-how to if one exists are what I'm after. Thanks! Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! Ok, let me try something different. Ahem. (imagine one of those obnoxious infomercials) Do you have a completed 3d model for something but haven't gotten around to the OP coding? Do you care if I tinker with it? If you answered "yes" and "no", in that order (I'm afraid that's awfully important ), then feel free to send me your files and I'll see what I can do. This is on-the-job learning, so I can't promise I'll do anything but wreck them, but hey! Why not. Thx! WM ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Werner: What do you want to learn? I have a ton of object meshes =) if you want some of them so you can put them in the game somehow I can get to it...------------------ Subaltern FarmerJoe Axis West Three Amigo IP: Logged |

Werner - No and Yes - I think it not so easy to build new working vehicles (code wise), which move and fire etc.. BUT I would love to see a "standart"-vehicle (code), which makes it easy to build new tanks and cars etc... LK IP: Logged |

Has anyone yet to develop drop tanks? that would be time well spent IMO.I know work was done on them before but im not sure how far it got. IP: Logged |

I have a semi working Ki-84 model in AC3D if you want to tinker with it. The guy that visits the forum that makes the Mc202 models is going to give us his next model so you could wait for it.IP: Logged |

LK - I'd like to do a jeep, but I have neither the inclination nor the finances to acquire 3d modelling capabilities so I'm entirely dependent on the goodwill of folks like you. That said, I want to start with a jeep because it has four wheels and would be a great template for future work, but I feel guilty not doing the T34 (although it is ~50% too big) that Pete made for me first. (But on the other hand what's the point if the thing is too big) I dunno, at this point I'm looking at a few things, maybe a french ac, maybe an italian ac, maybe vehicles... Like I said, a lot of it will depend on finding somebody to hook me up with near-finished or finished 3d models.Razer - sure! please send me the model. One question though, if you go and update the model does that screw up all the op codes for the old one? Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |
