Ahhhh - stupid shit !Damn, I invested about 6 hours today (yes it was sunday) to get the shadows right. I aligned the shadow objects perfectly to their shadow origins. I added the right values into the obShadow thing. Fuck ! Does not work. Last 3 hours was stupid tweak and test and tweak and test. So - I give up! LK IP: Logged |

You could just delete all but the shadow for the main body part, and make that left over shadow into the shadow for the whole plane. A quick hack, I guess.IP: Logged |

I think the translation values are easy, but the rotational matrix thing is killing me..

For now (for a release) you could just make one whole shadow for the plane (like the WWI planes) and worry about adding all the pieces to it later when you get feed back or decide to add/change something else on the plane. Im glad you are working on the shadows It will be one of the few planes I hope that has the shadow correct.IP: Logged |

No - I rather test and try and test and try and change and tweak...could someone tell me what a rotation 7.5 degrees upwards would look like as a 4x4 matrix ? Thanks ! LK IP: Logged |

your probably not going to like this, but you can just copy and paste the shadow from another plane using the lastes OPS. I did it for the Ki-61.i didn't do it with the P-39 but it will before the release this week. IP: Logged |

I'm not quite sure why you want to rotate the shadow. It should just be flat and then the game maps it onto what ever surface needs the shadow. perhaps there is a good reasonIP: Logged |

Bryan - I dont know, I guess a rotated wing part needs an rotated shadow ? I got it now half working, only thing is when you roll the plane and look for the shadows, you'll see some gaps between the outer wing shadow parts.LK IP: Logged |

Would be good to know a way (even a hard one) to find out the right coordinates for the shadow thing.IP: Logged |

It is nuts isn't it! You spend weeks struggling to get an airplane just right, only to be SLAMMED by perfecting it's shadow! It's so hard I have to laugh. I've yet to master this. Hopefully Bryan can come up with a solution to this major dilema that plagues all OPers.IP: Logged |
